The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I can't believe how far behind I am - must have been in a sleep marathon. I've been having vertigo attacks AGAIN!. With them the room always turns horizontally. I woke up today and just glanced across the room at the wall calendar. All of a sudden the calendar was turning
vertically. I have never seen that before in my life. Oh joy :smack

It sounds like things are coming along well, pics are always welcome!

I put in some golden alyssum, Chinese forget me nots and Nasturtiums so far, but I'd like to add some marigolds and I'm hoping to get some sunflower seeds from a place here that has heirloom and OP varieties specifically grown in our desert.
Waiting on my herbs to sprout, basil and dill, and some squash and peppers too. My carrots have been in long enough the tops are nearly a foot tall and I had a great germination rate this time. Mild winter too, although we're under a freeze warning for tomorrow morning.
i have dahlia's started down here, from seeds i bought at walmarts i think, i ordered some seeds of celosia , a copper color, new from johnnys seed cause i left most of my seeds up north, just brought a few tomato seeds with me, mine from seeds i kept, i have so many different colors of marigolds that i kept from my flowers, one color, have had for three years, usually plant most of them in the garden around my carrots, husband loves the big marigolds so kept some seeds from his that he bought at the nursery we go to for double impatiens(love them) not sure what other flowers i will plant once i get home, when i get home, will start most everything i start just for the garden and the things right in the garden itself, i always have a nice size garden, for eating fresh and putting up or drying, just like playing in the dirt, getting to eat it is a side benfit

I do love the smell of good, rich dirt, and playing in the garden is so relaxing for me. The food is a nice benefit, and cutting pretty flowers to put on the table too. I can't grow impatiens here, I kill them every time!

I was laid off from my job, this is my last month, so I'm hoping the garden will supplement our food budget a bit during summer and that we can put up some tomato sauce and salsa this year. We're going to expand and add a full sun area next month.

Good morning everyone! :frow

Debby, the local news even mentioned all the highway closures in WY! I hope Frankenfoot made it home before they closed? :fl hope y'all get a break in the weather....soon! :hugstry and stay safe and warm!

Winter is returning here tonight or early Wednesday....although not quite as bad as y'all are getting it.

Everyone make it a great day! :celebrate

sorry to read this DD. My daughter has vertigo sometimes and it makes here feel terrible. Have you talked to your doc? What's causing it?

@sharron my dentist uses some form of laser technology where he does not have to use Novocaine. I just had a tooth filled - no Novocaine, and no pain. Not certain how new this technology is. I'll be going to see him today to get a 'quote' on some cosmetic work done on some funky looking stuff. To me it seems like throwing good money after bad :old . I told the Princess, "There comes a time when you stop spending repair money on an old truck." She replied, "Depends on how much you love the truck." A real quick and smart mouth there. She's never at a loss for comebacks.
