The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Well, pop-a-top for me too, with my improving kidney numbers! Went from a GFR of 27 on January 31 to today’s GFR of .......drum roll please......32!!! Whatever we’re doing is working! Of course, I can’t walk upright without my Celebrex, can’t eat well without my Protonix, and I’m about to swell up like a toad because he’s taking me off my Triamterene, but hey...I can pee!! he even said today he thinks I am stabilizing, which means there may be some two digit fluctuations in the numbers from visit to visit but my overall function should stay about here.

But in our “what are the odds“ department.....

Leave it to me to be married to a Past Grand Master, and then find out during my appointment today that my nephrologist is Past Grand Master of Puerto Rico. First off, Masonry happened to me last week, too, with my primary. He walked in, shook hands with Ken, and asked him if life was setting out now that he’s not Grand Master anymore, or were there still things he was doing. So they chatted, then Doctor Caldwell turned to me and said, “What can I do for you, Diane?” Oh, nuthin. I just drove Ken down here to Lovell so the two of you could visit.

Then today in Billings the nephrologist said, “These are the things I want you to follow up on with your primary physician.“ I sorta mumbled, “Yeah, like he even knew I was there last week once Ken’s Grand Master year came up.” His ears perked up and he asked Ken, “So you’re a Brother?” Next thing I knew he wheeled his little office chair over to Ken, right past me, pulled out his phone, and started showing Ken pictures of him in his GL uniform, pictures of the Grand Lodge building in Puerto Rico, and a group photo of him with other Grand Masters from Brazil and other countries. Oh, great. Yeah, I’ll be the one with the sick kidneys, waiting in the corner.

That's great news about yesterday's visit B!

Sorry, had to laugh about the brotherhood thing :gig

Good morning everyone. Happy Friday! I ended up with a migraine yesterday but feeling much better today. Hubs is off so I think we'll take the pups to the park this morning before it gets too warm. 86 is our expected high today, that's a bit much in my opinion.

Happy Friday right back at you IM!

Glad to hear you're feeling better today. Have fun at the dog park :)
