The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Just came back from Vons. Its a big grocery store. First time in a bout three weeks. OMG. But they are doing an heroic effort to keep the shelves full. Of course no TP Paper towels or drinking water. No commercial bread either. But their bakery is cranking out loves of fresh baked bread. I bought some Rye to go with the Corned beef and cabbage Dinner I hope to make for St Paddys day.

I was able to get personal supplies and Fruits and vegitables. The meat counter was pretty sparse. But I am ok with meat.

Corned beef was a pretty good price. Cabbage was awesome. I got fresh carrots and boiling potatoes and Sweet onions. I don't care for the taste of a whole boiled dinner. So I plan to either roast the veggies in the oven or on the grill. To get some carmelization. Cabbage too. All will get added to the corned beef pot and simmered to grab up some of the beefy goodness.

I love corned beef sandwiches the next day. Hence the rye. and I already have horse radish and mustard.

My dutch oven is ready I just have to dig out the grill.

Yum, hubby always makes corned beef for St. Patrick's day. His mom's maiden name was Quinn.
