You mix an egg in with the coffee grounds and brew it on the stove in those old percolator coffee pots.

when daddy made coffee in a regular pot(boiled the water and dumped coffee in) he would just add the egg shells, said it settled the coffee grounds down so you didn't get it in your teeth
