The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

My Mum loves to recount the story of my Dad shooting a turkey, and her lovingly cooking it... and it was horrible! So, no. We'll just appreciate their bug eating skills. And we definitely don't have the skills to be hunting for our own food. 😄

I washed the bottom of an indoor rabbit cage yesterday and left it on the grass to dry (except it then proceeded to rain:rolleyes:). I couldn't believe it when I did go and retrieve it how many baby locusts were hiding under the rim. Then there were the slugs. 😱 (I hate slugs).
Too funny about the Turkey!

It is likely better to dry things out of that type of an environment!

That sounds like a son

Just the usual stuff for me today. I think we're going to Casper Saturday so probably ought to clean out the fridge and get some laundry done.

Do you guys do anything special for the 4th?
Do you go see fireworks and such? All the cities here have cancelled the shows because the drunks had to go out and party and now covid is running rampant.

We are going to my sons new place to see it for the first time, deliver the 5 pullets and their housewarming gift. Hubs has to work Sunday and we'll be home before dark. Don't want my pups home alone with the neighbors fireworks going off.

We haven't seen fireworks since we lived in Florida 4 years ago. I don't know what, if anything, is organized here or in Casper for the 4th.

When my boys were small, the 2 boys and I used to love going to the fireworks stand. We'd load up on as much as we could and the boys would set off their own display the night of the 4th. That was always a special time for us.

We did that too when our kids were little, so much fun! When we moved here we all used to lay on my bed in our 2 story house and watch the big display put on by the city, no need to leave the a/c :)
