I have a friend who runs 450 layers on pasture and moves them every day. She has a bank of nest boxes on a trailer that she pulls behind the coop. She get's like 75% of her eggs from a dozen or so nest boxes.

I hope they can do something about the leg swelling Sue. And those headaches too!

Fingers crossed we get answers Tuesday and I understand the headaches will get much better, I really shouldn't complain as they are much better than many people have this early after a stroke.

Good morning everyone! Well I cooked up my large egg from my MM Maran & it was a double yolker. Now I'm not sure if my other double yolk eggs were from one of my Welsummer girls...the color is the same except this one didn't have as many freckles! Time will tell!

The fridge we have now is an old one from the golf course. It's actually the 2nd old one we've had in the 4 years we've been here. Finally, DH got the ok to get a new one on the company dime since it will stay in the company house for who knows how long. I'm so looking forward to having one that works all the time!

That is so true about hens! You can have 10 nest boxes and they will only use two of them

We bought a side by side and the freezer just isn’t wide enough. We special ordered it to fit into a small space. I like the looks of it, just need it bigger. I want my next one with the freezer on the bottom and french doors on top.

Do they make that style narrow enough?

My question is... WHY?

Because they are chickens!

Yes, my DH is a golf course superintendent. He likes the job but sure works a lot during the summer.

That internal clock can be a pain! I was up at 0330. I usually start work at 0600 and need time to get chores done, but the weekends I wish I could sleep in. Enjoy your nap when you get it!

No nap, went shopping! I should have stayed home, stressful and my head hurtsWe have 1 more stop when we get closer to home.

The new fridge should be here in about 1 week so I'm holding off grocery shopping until then. The local furniture place in town will install the ice maker, deliver it, set it up into place and haul off the old one. That's all helpful!

The type you're talking about with the freezer on the bottom and French doors on top is what we put in our Casper house...love it!
