The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Thank you Sue...I won't! 😁 I truly hope the water pill works for you. Have you ever tried a low carb diet! It cuts out inflammatory foods...when I eat that way, I feel pretty amazing. I'm actually getting back on track to eating that way again...the hardest part for me is leaving good tasting bread out of my diet, it's my downfall! I hope you feel better soon. I love your string painting...especially the flowers! 🌺

Works for me too, but I am such a carb addict - keep falling off the wagon. Also lose weight that I don't need to lose.

I actually have tried before, but bread is my downfall 😩 and Bob make our bread items so that will be hard. I might have to do something like that though-let's see what my labs day and I'll go from there 🤔 Thanks for the info 😊

Thanks for the kind words about my string paintings, I think the blue one is my favorite 😉
Yep, I'm totally with you on the bread! I love baking and eating bread...there is nothing like it! I've shared a couple of my own recipes on the baking thread...it's hard not to make them. My sister in law loves my sprouted wheat oatmeal bread, so I have to make that for her once in a while! Since I'm not baking as much, my son has learned to make sourdough and that is extremely hard to stay out of...sourdough is probably my all time favorite! I hope your labs look good! 💞

It's amazing what it does for your body when you go low carb! I really notice it in my joints when I'm eating whatever I want, my fingers become stiff and painful, within a couple of weeks of dropping the carbs they feel so much better! I'm definitely a carb addict, but I can do without if it keeps me feeling good, plus it helps me to keep the weight off, I wish I didn't have that concern, but I do! :( lol

I've been doing low carb since around 2002. It really does make me feel much better. But I can totally relate to how hard it is when you're addicted to carbs.... bread ... I need bread. :drool

I know...it's so hard, but once I break the addiction again, it becomes easier! I was Keto for over two years & then quit. I'm now trying not to be as restrictive, just low carb, but it's actually been harder. So, I might go back to Keto!

There is a big difference between simple carbs and complex carbs. Home made bread is not likely to increase inflammation. Foods with a lot of sugar likely will.

We need complex carbs and they should be the highest type of calories we eat.

I'm doing a VERY restricted keto diet, under my doctor's care of course. I have no choice.. my heart doesn't react well to carbs. 😔
