Are the beetles you mentioned the Japanese beetle? I just had a look around to see what creatures eat them, there are quite a few. But the problem is the things burrow into the ground :(.

I do hope America finds a much safer way of clearing the forest and woodland areas, especially when the weather is extremely hot and dry.
