The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Yes, I did and I'll never forget it !! We used to watch the food network all the time and I learned about it there and swore I would never try it, just from the way they talked about it and acted . But I'm one of those people that want to everything at least once!

ETA: DH reminded me "except for oysters on the half shell " 🤢
I’ve had those, not a fan. Slime is not a good thing :gig I do like escargot though which is almost counter intuitive to slime

Good morning IM! My girl is much improved this morning...thank you! :)

That looks delicious. I'm going to show this to my SIL, they are here this weekend. Like I said he makes Lefse and now I'm sure he will try the meatballs, if he hasn't already!
Great news Rene! What was wrong with her that she needed to go in the hospital?

I like oysters Rockefeller! Plain not so much.

Escargot  Another brave woman:lol:
I like smoked oysters, don’t know that I’ve had oysters Rockefeller though 🤔 Escargot was actually really good, I think it was in a brown gravy? I just had a bite but would have it again for sure.

Good morning everyone! I hope you all have a great Sunday!

My girl seems to be much improved today, but I plan on keeping her in the garage until Wednesday, then to the mini coop for a couple of more days and then she can rejoin the flock!
:frow Good morning Rene, have a great day... Glad your girl is doing much better.

Thank you Kim! I think she had Coccidiosis...watery droppings, listless, the standard sick chicken pose! I started her on Corid yesterday and it seems to be working, droppings are still watery, but getting better...I hope!

Guess there are multiple ways of preparing them.

The only time I've seen escargot they were served to someone in a restaurant. It was just a plate of shells served up with a little cup of butter. Watching someone dig them out of their shells left an indelible impression on me. :sick

That’s good she’s getting better then. Poor girl. If it’s not fires or hurricanes it’s predators or illness this year. Geez

Morning chores are done and it's a gray, windy, chilly day (41*) so I'm inside for a while. Time to catch up!

The meatballs look delicious IM! I was telling DH about them yesterday and he wants me to dig up the Finnish meatball recipe for an upcoming dinner. See what you started!

You're a brave woman Sue! I like to try new things but don't know that I'd try Durian.

Hi Slacker! :gig Nice to see you today!

No agitation allowed...agitation isn't good for my peace of mind!

Morning cheepteach, glad you're ready for the rain! Have a good one :)

Glad to hear it Rene!

I've tried many things living all over - I've tried snails in Germany and its another nope for me .
When I was young, many many moons ago , I worked in fast food and I had to grab slimy oysters out of a can to prepare them, not a fan of playing in snotty oysters 🤮
