Good MOOrnin Debby! @Grammy60 @rjohns39 @swampfox440 @sourland @TwoCrows @igorsMistress
I have to tell you folks this one . Yesterday at around 6:00 we had a bad storm it knocked the power out . :duc I had a dozen eggs in the incubator on day 20 , one external pip . So the incubator went dead . I was angry so close but so far . I went and heated a big pot of water and covered the incubator and pot with blankets . The power came on around 5:00 this morning so I went out to check . I'll be, the pot was still warm, One chick hatched 4 more pips . :ya:yesss: :fl:wee
Woot woot! Congrats Mark, great thinking and nice save!! :clap

Hi Mad :frow

Your kids get a short summer vacation, at least compared to what my kids used to get. Mine would get out around the end of May and not go back until the last week of August (almost 3 months).
You can blame the weird obsession for Japanese schools. The school year for most was increased due to the un true idea that our kids were losing out to the Japanese kids....where most do not go to traditional school after middle school age.

You can't compare the two systems that way! It would be a better comparison if you only used the top 10% of students here since a similar percentage there even go the high school. Most go to a trade school

Good morning Debby!!

Toby is doing fabulous! I think he is officially potty trained to go outside, he hasn't had an accident in the house in 2 weeks!!! BUT his energy and need of constant supervision at 14 weeks old is wearing me down. :old I swear he has the energy of 10 puppies! He sure is full of love though.💗
Omgoodness what a success but, what kind of Energizer did you get?!
:frow Good morning Sour, have a great day and try to stay cool

:frow Good morning Leyla, have a great day

:frow Good morning IM, have a great day

Great save on the eggs Mark. I wasn't as fortunate. Water pump quit sometime on day 19 and the humidity alarm didn't sounds. Day 23 looks like they all died in the shell.
Sorry for the loss :( what a bummer!
Assuming I can get the parts, I'll set eggs again on the 24th.
I've got my fingers crossed!
Wow! :love so rewarding!

That's what I remember, too but it gets shorter and shorter; they've got a couple week breaks throughout the year to replace the month they lose in summer. It's nice but the summer just flies by!

How's business doing this summer for you and DH?

I'm not working this summer, but DH is busy with the golf course. Too busy from what he's been telling me. Apparently every day some piece of equipment or piece of the irrigation system is breaking. The place is falling apart as fast as he can fix it. (It's an old course built back in the 1950's and some of the stuff he's fixing or replacing is that old.)

I guess no one was worried about my generation keeping up with another country's school system. We used to start summer vacation mid-May and not go back until after Labor Day.
We did too!

My Daughters school ended in June and started up the second week in August.
