The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

You need to write that stuff down. Debby could add your book to her collection.
I donated and gave away so many books when we built our new home. I mostly read ebooks now. I didn't think I'd like it, but I love it now. I can fall asleep without the light shining in my face. If I wake up in the middle of the night, and I want to read, I don't worry about waking Jim or the dogs.
Good morning, Ron, Bob, Mark, Sue, Debby, Sour, DMC, IM,& Dawg! Did I miss anyone?
It is going to be a beautiful day!

Morning Janie :frow

I definitely need to add more books to my collection, my shelves aren't groaning under the weight yet. :gig My brother gave me a Kindle a few years ago, but I don't use it...I like the feel and smell of paper books.

Hey Janie, you need to tell us more about your nursing days and working at a prison. That sounds interesting!

Good morning Bob! Yep, not a care in the world :D

Good morning Janie. I like ebooks too but I don’t want to pay for them. I have gotten quite a few through our library.

DMC, here's a place where you can get tons of free e-books (this is where my brother gets so many of his): https://www.gutenberg.org

Good morning DMC :frow I walked through one the other day 😞 you should have seen me trying to make sure I didn't have a spider hanging around !!
I hadn't noticed how many spiders we have until this morning. I don't mind the spiders, but I hate getting webbed!
I came across this and had to share because I think it's just amazing...

Good morning, Jae, that is tear jerking in a good way.❤
These little guys put on a good show for quite awhile.
Nature always puts on the best shows! One year I hung plastic ghosts for Halloween and a squirrel grabbed one. Two other squirrels were chasing it round and round a big oak tree. It was hilarious.
There's a new member interview to check out if any of you would like: BYC Member Interview - 50-45-1
Looking forward to it!

I used to feel that way about ebooks, but when we were riding around the country (Harley days) I needed books in the evening. Space was so limited. The eReader was wonderful!
Prison life was interesting...before I did that, I worked in a mental hospital. It was weird but interesting. In all I spent 13 years of my life in institutions. 🤪 I made it out semi-sane.

Saving for later. Do you buy from Thriftbooks? Their prices are great, and you get rewards. Their site requires a little patience, but I've found some good books through them.
I so love to read e-books, but you can't beat a real book. Just something about holding a book in your hands 💖.
I definitely agree. They hurt less when you drift off and drop them in your face too. (Guilty)

:frow Good morning Janie, have a great day

You also Bob!

I’m sure I’ve had the same reaction.
I was doing laundry the other day and a centipede was hiding under my pile of clothes. Freaked out! They are as bad or worse then spiders. Hubby came and took care of it and looked at me like, really?

I told my sister if she buys any more books she’s going to have to get a bigger house.

I've never heard of ThriftBooks, I'll have to check them out...thanks!

Working in a prison and a mental hospital must have been challenging. Glad you made it out at least semi-sane

Spiders don't bother me (unless I walk face first into a web), but centipedes are scary!
