The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Janie, you need one of these orange tabbies! Opie is the best cat ever (don't tell my other 2):View attachment 2792648

We already had 2 cats (Pip and Bam Bam) when this little starving dirty kitten showed up at the door Thanksgiving 2016. How could you turn that away? We couldn't, and he's been my shadow since. And he's definitely NOT starving any more (he weighs over 18 pounds).
Can you just pop him on the bus? I'll meet him at the station! He is gorgeous...not sure I can afford to feed him, though.🤣
Good morning all.
We are off to Aberdeen today. Hubby has to see a specialist for his ear. He can hear out of it but there’s something not quite right with it.
Have a good day!

DMC, I hope you have a safe trip and that the specialist can diagnose and deal with your hubby's problem.

Good morning all!
My son, his wife, and their hairy kids (3 dogs and a cat) made it to the Boulder area last night. They are staying in a pay-by-the-week cabin for three weeks until they close on the new house. And. It comes with a chicken coop! I'm so excited for them. Erin has been wanting chickens. Jacob says they will have around four. I suggested brahmas because they want "dog like" hens. I'm going to give them a PFM to BYC before they get chicks. I'm sure they won't be getting them until the fall.
I found three chicks in my small coop yesterday. We don't use that coop because it is sturdy, but the lay out is poor. I usually just check the nest boxes from the outside.
We bought it off Craigslist, before we got our first chickens. Apparently, Lucy langshan, and her accomplces have been hiding eggs in the corner beside the nesting boxes. I only opened the front door because I heard cheeping. I was so surprised that I forgot to take a picture! The coop is off ground, so I guess I'll have to crawl up in there and pull them out, while Lucy pecks me near to death, and put them all in the brooder.

Good morning Janie!

Hope the closing on your son's house goes well. It will be fun when they get a flock of their own...fall will be here before you know it!

Congrats on the new chicks, have fun getting them out of their hiding spot :D

I didn't know that was a thing. What's the treatment for that (if that's what it is)?
Surgery that may help or make it worse. :hmm
