The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Question for you all...does anyone here dry sunflower heads? I have a volunteer sunflower that popped up (from the wild bird seed I think) and it's now dropped most of it's petals. I'd like to give the head to the flock once it goes to seed. The head is about 8" around so a nice size.

Do I leave the head on the stalk to dry like there or do I have to cut it off and dry it some other way?
If you allow it to mature 'in place' the birds may remove the seeds before you get them to your chickens. I'd follow DMC's suggestion.

We have both ATT and Verizon extender boxed plugged into the internet here. Without them we have no cell service.
How does that work when there isn't a decent cell signal to start with? We have TracFones and they will always use Verizon if they can detect any signal at all. Too bad they don't recognize the ATT tower 3/4 mile up the road is there since the Verizon is nearly useless. They would use that tower in the absence of Verizon.

the job was not for me unfortunately. :hmm
That is too bad but you will find something suitable. I don't know about there but there are lots of jobs advertised here.

I'm pretty sure the stores have the shelves stocked with decor already.
Yes but the problem is whether or not you'll be able to find the things you want to buy for gifts!

I was just looking at my 10 day weather forecast, look what we have coming:
I don't see any snow there ;)

Hope I can get it to my flock before the wild birds get it!
Or the squirrels. That is what happened to the big ones we grew at the prior house. The buggers cut the heads before they were even "ripe". Never bothered to try a second time since there were tons of squirrels in the tightly packed suburban neighborhood. Hardly ever see a squirrel out here in the more agricultural area. Maybe I should plant some next year.

Not much for jobs here…

Basically it's a mini-cell tower connected to the internet.

ETA: https://www.verizon.com/products/verizon-lte-network-extender/? Don't believe the "easy to install" part.
