The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning Mad 😊☕☕ mine keeps getting cold 🤷
Hahaha. I dislike that! DH says I waste more than I drink...idk what he speaks of! 😅🤣
A very late good morning to you all!
Good mooooooorning Debby!
Thanks DMC, I think so! What with covid and restrictions last year, he couldn't come out so it's been 2 years. DH and I got the spare bedroom fixed up for him, so by the boy coming, we got that project finally finished. Nothing like company coming to get some house projects finished
Omgoodness that's a long time. So excited for you :D
Are you still planning on taking an art class with him?

How's your day going Mad?

I'm hoping I can get DS to go to a place here in town that has various arty kind of projects to work on...I wouldn't dare try to take an actual class with him, he's too good.

Hahaha :lau was he artistic at a young age?

My day is going good. Currently on coffee cup #4, chillin' with the chickens and dogs.

Yes, he's always been good with the art stuff.

You're ahead of me in the coffee, I'm just finishing my 2nd. But I'm chillin' too...mostly because it's cold here

That is chilly! We have '4 seasons in 1 day' kinda weather at the moment. One minute it's sunny and hot, then the clouds roll in and the cold southerly picks up, then back to sunny and hot, then you'll get a shower of rain or even a bit of hail. Typical spring weather.

I got hailed on the other day, but thankfully I had my sunhat on as it had been blazing sunshine. At the time I was trying to convince a stubborn calf to walk on the lead, but, as per usual, she was digging in her heels (so much fun when you're getting hailed on!). If you tie her to something she doesn't pull, but as soon as there's a human on the end of her lead it's a power struggle. :th

At least Miss Earlybird has the perfect temperament for a second house cow - her mother will have a spring calf and be milked for 6 months over spring and summer until Early, once she's old enough, can have an autumn calf so I can milk Early over autumn and winter. That's the plan anyhow. :fl

We had a pair of wild Paradise ducks bring their 11 ducklings for a swim on our pond yesterday evening. They do have very cute ducklings. I couldn't get close enough for a photo though as they are very nervous creatures.

I'm hoping our last ewe will give birth maybe today, surely tomorrow at the latest. She looks so big and uncomfortable.

Hi Jae :frow It's hard to keep up with weather like that! Hope the hail didn't cause any damage.

I've never heard of Paradise ducks so I did a search. Is this what you have there in NZ?

Good luck to the mama ewe, hope you'll have another baby picture for us soon.

Yes, those are them. They are unusual because the female is more colourful than the male (she's the one with the white head).

It'll be interesting to see if this ewe has twins like her twin sister did. She's certainly looking big enough, poor girl.
