Son #1 hauls for 3 big farmers and it depends on who has a dry field and they have set days and times that it’s their turn. He has a friend that runs his other semi and hubby helps him out when he can. When it dries up things will get crazy again. I dread it.

Maybe it won't be long now until your winter sets in and then things can slow down?

I have not seen them since the last time they were here. The new baby is a couple weeks old and I need to go see her. I haven’t been anywhere to get a baby gift. I do text mom quite a bit though.

It’s a weird year. Beets would have probably been done but you can’t harvest them when it’s warm…it’s been warm…then the rain came and put them back even further. I think we have our first frost chance tomorrow. I’d wish a snowstorm on us but this is a big income for my son and makes his semi payments for the year.

Maybe a silly question, but why can't you harvest beets when it's warm?
