I got a 20# turkey this year, but only because it was the smallest one in the cooler at the time. I’ll send a bunch home with Mom and Pop, otherwise it would have been just a breast or a chicken instead.

Good morning IM. We keep our turkey as small as we can, only two of us. The stray cats get some dinner also.

Will you have a short work week? Working full time plus a big holiday dinner can be tricky. Pumpkin pie is good any way you make it!

I’m off Thursday and Friday but I’m off work at 1400 every day so still time to do things afterward to get ready. I’m taking a few shortcuts this year though, boxed mix of cornbread for the dressing and a ready made pie crust. Green beans already trimmed and washed in a steam bag, my dad hates the green bean casserole that everyone makes so I just dress with butter, onion pwd, salt and pepper. Using a salad kit too.

OMG, he worked for Armco?!?

My dad worked there for 30 years as an engineer. He was there from 1952-1982 so not at the same time. Your BIL is the first person I've come across in years that worked for the same company as my dad.

It's nice you won't have to rush around with a tight schedule. Still plenty to do though!
