The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning, all!! Was off for a day and a half and already there were too many pages to go through to get to this point, so if you’ve asked me a question or anything, ask again….I missed it!

At least one member of the family is grateful for the snow we got….Feefer can’t wait to get outside and rub the side of her sore face in it. She’s making me crazy….that abscess was cleaned out and she’s on antibiotics but it just keeps draining, New house, new carpets and room sized rugs and now this……. <sigh>

@igorsMistress here's the cookie recipe you were interested in:

Danish Butter Cookies
1/2 Cup butter at room temp
1/4 Cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 Cup flour
1-2 Tablespoons warm milk

Cream the butter, sugar and extract until light in color and fluffy.
Mix in the flour a bit at a time, don't over-beat.
Roll dough into small balls, roll in sprinkles and put on a parchment covered baking sheet and then flatten slightly.
Put baking sheet in the fridge about 30 minutes to firm up (you don't want to bake before chilling or they'll run in the oven).
Preheat oven to 300*. Bake cookies 15-20 minutes, until edges begin to turn golden.

These taste better the next day. And they aren't overly sweet (unless you roll them in granulated sugar).

The original instructions call for piping the dough instead of rolling into balls. I tried that once, it was a mess because the dough is so firm.

I’m making these! Thanks Debby!

Hi IM, want to let you know...the next time I make Butter cookies, I'm going to try this recipe from Sally's Baking Addiction. I like most of her recipes and this one has some differences (like adding an egg). butter-cookies

I'm hoping her recipe will be more pipe-able.

Good morning all!

We are off again today due to the cold. It will be an E-Learning day. I’m not sure what that all involves when you don’t go to school. We had one a few weeks back due to a threat against the school but we had to show up and the kids stayed home. Today we all stay home. School buses were gelling up yesterday.

Good morning DMC, enjoy your day off!
