The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

We had so many lightning bugs this last summer it freaked me out a little…not sure why as I like them. A couple times our camper was surrounded by them.
My siblings and I used to catch them and turn them loose in the house to freak out our baby sister. To this day she still has a bug phobia. 😬

Uffda!
My brother put my friend and I on a cow. We were about 6-7. He then got a big barn spider on the end of a pitch fork and came at us with it. Good thing the cow was in a stantion. No wonder I hate spiders.

Older siblings are perfect for toughening up the younger ones

My little brother stuck about 6 of these in my backpack one time...

Much appreciated Debby!

You better not go out or you might end up in Florida earlier than planned!

The first? We had some silly ones a month ago. Cardinals too and now I'm seeing red wing blackbirds. Either they know something about the temps/weather the next few weeks or they missed a page on their calendar.

Starting to think I better get a move on building a new tree swallow house. I took down the old rotten one last fall ... along with the rotted post. Going to need to get that in soon as well.
:frow Good afternoon Bruce, have a great day... We've had a bunch of new birds visiting. Blue Jays, cardinals and several I can't identify.
Afternoon everyone :frow
:frow Good afternoon Mad, have a great day
Good afternoo , Sue.

Good afternoo, Bob. I agree. Mornings are for old folk. I keep telling myself that.
Myself keeps saying "Get up, old lady! You've got stuff to do." 🤣
I did sleep until 8 a.m. one day last week.😴

Good afternoon, Marie! I hope your day is going well.

It's here! I've got spring, and I'm not giving it up!

Good afternoon, to you and Katie, Blooie!

For Debby.

Afternoon, Mad!
It's been a loooooong time since I woke up at 8. For decades I woke up at 4, lately I've been enjoying 6 and today it was 7:30. But since waking up, i've done greets, Bdays, judged a contest and took care of bills. I stand by my earlier statement that adulting is over-rated.
That's something I miss the most, we don't have Cardinals in Colorado. Or Mockingbirds. Or lightning bugs. :(
But I don't have tornadoes either, so I'm good.
Sounds like a good trade off. I grew up with Tornadoes and learned to watch the sky and when to take cover. It's valuable experience but better if you don't have to deal with it. The day 911 called us and said there were tornados on the ground was bone chilling, but the sky was fine so I didn't worry. Later I found out an EF4 touched down 12 miles from here.

Lol. I don't have experience with siblings, but I hear wonderful stories.

My little sister was always terrified of turtles. So naturally when a friend was staying over with me, we had to dangle a ceramic one right in front of her eyes while she was sleeping. And then gently wake her up.

The whole house was awake by the time she finished screaming. Wow, did we get in trouble. :lau
