They’re fine, being lazy lol. A new place tomorrow will be super exciting though!

We went to TSC this morning and I found this neat solar light. I’m going to put it on the side of the coop near the gate. I always spend more than I should there! Thoughts on what color other than white would look good with this? I want paint the coop. Anyone?

Too much snow on the ground all of a sudden for an Easter Egg Hunt, and Evan and Katie are “too old” anyway.

Hah!!!!! DW's sister STILL wants to have the annual Easter Egg hunt .... she will be 55 on Tuesday.. We even had a "virtual" one once, DD's carried the laptop around the area of the house where the eggs were hidden and the girls and SIL all hunted together. Not sure she gets one this year though, she'll be driving back to Virginia tomorrow.

I asked Tam, Jen and Kenny if they wanted to have an Easter dinner here, but they seemed rather iffy about it. it’s been so doggone damp and cold I don’t really blame them for not wanting to go out if they don’t have to.

It isn't too cold or damp to not have someone else make dinner!
Glad they changed their minds.

The Edible Easter contest is open until Monday the 18th at Midnight Pacific time

So the timing was set by the IRS?

I’m happier in the kitchen than any other place, Debby. It’s always been that way, no matter where we loved

What’s in your macaroni salad?

Nothing special…it’s the IDEA that macaroni salad spells the beginning of spring rather than the actual salad. More tradition than anything else. I just boil up the salad macaroni, rinse, drain, and set it aside to cool. While that is cooling, I chop up celery, cucumber, tomatoes, and green onions. We like the veg cut into decent sized chunks rather than minuscule pieces….if I’m biting into something I want to be able to identify it! Then I cube up about a 2 inch slab of Velveeta into about 1/2 pieces. The dressing is Miracle Whip, salt and pepper. Sometimes I thaw, drain and dry those little salad shrimp to put in it too, but i either forget half the time or just don’t feel like it. That’s how the kids like it, but I don't think the leftover salad tastes right after a day or so with the shrimp…it gets an “off“ taste. . When I make it, I make the giantest green Tupperware bowl full. The kids each take some home for the next day, Ken and I keep the rest and snack on it or add it to the rest of the leftovers for dinner the next night. That’s it….nothing fancy, some good old fresh stuff along with some processed stuff, and everybody’s happy!

The usual…ham and meatballs. The boys like stuffing so I make that too. I also do mashed potatoes/gravy, frozen cream corn, my “homemade” Rhodes Texas Rolls, and dirt salad.

A feast!!! We’re doing ham, homemade brioche buns, macaroni salad, baked taters for Kendra and Tam (who won’t eat the salad), baked beans….reminds me, I gotta get the beans soaking!……corn and a spice cake.

I’m glad they changed their minds too. Kendra’s been kinda crabby the last few days so maybe an outing is just what she needs. We’ll eat a little earlier than usual so if she is really unhappy, the kids will at least get to eat before they take her home.

I do like that combo! I have white barn paint for the outside so will need to get something to change the color. I did find out that I can use any water soluble dye in my whitewash mixture for the inside. If I do pale grey outside I think a pale green inside with white trim in and out would look good. Thanks ladies!
