D'aweeeeee! She so preetty 🤩

Our first one was Sasha (male), the runt of his litter, best family dog we ever had, and lived to be 10 or 11. He was my mom's dog. I was 2 years old when my dad brought him home to be "his" dog but the moment my mom saw him it was an instant connection. We had so much fun with him when we were little.
After he passed, my dad gifted a new one named Oliver... It was a bad idea, she loved him but it was just too soon after Sasha. He was so energetic and entertaining but much harder to train. They found out he had a brain tumor and sadly passed away around 3 years old. i always remember the crazy "booty" wiggles, the dangling drool bubbles 😂 those big puppy-dog-eyes, and all the good memories 💜
Thank you, IM. I love her, but she is a Daddy's girl.
This was Brewster's predecessor, Dexter. We lost him to old age last year.

Brewster was 4 years old, and a rescue. I felt like we needed more time to grieve Dexter, but he needed a home, quickly. It took a few weeks for Ruby to warm up to him. They are inseparable now.
This is Truman, a wire haired dachshund mix, we lost him two years before Dexter. He was hard to get over. He was almost 21 years old. Ruby was very depressed, he was her buddy. Fortunately, she had Dexter.

We have 5 dogs and a cat buried in our pet cemetery. Two were granddogs. The cat belonged to my mil. All were much loved.

Well this day is totally hosed! We’re okay - I may have lost the hearing in my right ear from the side airbag. ER says ear drum is intact but they can’t tell about structural damage behind it so they’re setting me up with an ENT. This sucks- I could only hear from that ear anyway because I’m totally deaf in my left ear and have been for 10 years.

I'm glad you are OK. I hope the ENT will give you good news.

I'm very glad you are fine! What happened? (Besides the obvious - the front of your van hit something big).
It was a suicidal deer. We never saw it at all. Ken never even touched the brakes. Jenny and Katie were a couple of cars behind us on their way home from Katie’s orthodontist. She pulled over and waited for the first responders and tow truck with us. As soon as the van was dropped off at Western Collision she took us home. Deer died instantly. We hit him at a full 70 mph. Jen and Katie said he literally went airborne, took out a mile marker post, and continued flying all the way across the ditch to the other side. Three Highway patrolmen were looking for him and never did find him.
We’re mostly okay. A few minor airbag burns. We’re mostly Stunned. Shocked. Mad. and Worried.

Went to ER for my ear. Eardrum is intact but they’re setting me up with an ENT because they can’t check for structural damage on the other side of the eardrum. Peachy. Just peachy.
I'm glad you are OK. I hope the ENT will give you good news.
Me too!! I had my head tilted to the side by my window when the airbag hit me dead on the ear. Thought my ear was ringing from the noise at first but it’s gotten progressively worse and I can barely hear out of it now. If I tense my jaw muscles slightly it sounds like plates rattling. I’m permanently deaf in my left ear and have been for years, so I don’t want any issues with the right one!

:( and :)

Sad for all the problems, glad you weren't hurt badly. Hopefully your hearing will return, how else will I talk your ear off on the phone??

Was it full daylight or dusk? Deer are very dangerous at dusk, near impossible to see unless you catch their eyes in the headlights. And often where there is one there are more just waiting to cross in front of you if you happen to miss the first one.
