The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning all - gonna be a hot one today, methinks. We have to go to Billings today for my annual lung scan. Tried to talk Little DIane into going up with us but she said she was gonna stay here, keep an eye on the dogs, and get her laundry done. I thought about asking her to clean out the fridge but then decided I’d be too embarrassed with what she might find lurking in there.

Guess I’ll leave a review for that quack but I don’t see that it’ll do much good. Our local hospital and clinic do a lot of referrals to him because he’s the only ENT in the area. Most people don’t like driving way up to Billings when they’re already hurt or sick and Cody is a lot closer. Me? At this point I’ll take a referral to an ENT in Peoria if it means avoiding what I just went through. I am going to let my primary know in no uncertain terms exactly why they need to rethink.

Chicks are growing like weeds out there! This batch isn’t as relaxed around us as previous groups have been. I sure can’t explain that - they were raised just as all our other chicks were raised. Even Tank 3 is more standoffish. Well, I’ve never been one for “lap chickens” anyway, so as long as they stay healthy and lay well that’s all I’ll ask of them. Sure some pretty ones out there! Ken and Kenny went ahead and put the plastic up over the run. I protested….it’s awfully hot for that plastic….but we’ve had an unusual amount of heavy rains for this area and the run needs to stay dry. They left the ends wide open, and since most of our winds come from the south and north there’s usually a pretty stiff breeze going through it.

Morning Blooie, glad to hear the chicks are doing well!

Sorry everyone I have too share one little moan

Our local charity shop is so helpful too those who are trying too get rehomed. Many people lose their homes through circumstances beyond their control I have been in such a situation through theft being conned and also being hacked...

So as you can well understand I absolutely support this charity and always have, long before my experience..
Next week this wonderful charity are delivering to the Ukraine to people who are under immense difficulties.
I'd already given things and made a donation but decided too try and raise a few medical supplies as well. So I went into our local poundstretchers, and purchased bandages gauze/pads alcohol wipe etc. I asked if the shop would mind donating too add to these supplies as the item's will leave on Monday for Ukraine. The manageress was so embarrassed too tell me that this company point blank refuses too give to any charity at all. How NICE of the bosses!

I wonder why 🤔
I stopped donating to certain charities when I found out they don't actually give all the donations to people. The homeless shelter would sort through donations, resell the good quality, and gave the people what couldn't be sold. It really upset me that organizations meant to help people do that.

These don't, our main lady makes sure their donations go to the right place. A few of the staff was made too leave I think for the reasons you mentioned.
The lady who runs this even gives up all of her Christmases too prepare meals for the elderly and poor.
She never stops working. I took a medical gadget last week thinking that they wouldn't Want it but tried anyway, she was thrilled and said this is definitely going to Ukraine hence I went in search of medical things too add.

I know exactly what you mean, there's another charity in a town away from here and I strongly suspect they're untrustworthy

I don't give it much thought...until I see one. I'm in the habit of shaking my shoes out.

As do many if not most of the organizations 'saving' pets.
The ones that are corrupt should be exposed fined and closed down. I can't tell you how sick this sort of money laundering makes me feel 😪

There are some genuine pet rescues that struggle all because of thieves, putting it mildly. There's one place that tries too save animals that are intended to be put down. Yes, these genuinely caring places needs money or they couldn't do this.

There's a lovely mother living near me that has the most beautiful creature, he's so loving too her and her little boy. Had it not been for that rescue he would have been killed and there's nothing wrong with him at all
