Good morning Part 2 to everyone!

DH went to work for a while and I fell back asleep watching the Scottish Open. Now DH is back, attempting to put together a desk. The volume of his @#$@@! is getting a bit loud so I'm hanging out back in my office :lol:

@igorsMistress and @janiedoe hope your birds will be ok with the terrible heat you're getting. I know you're both doing what you can :hugs

@DigMyChicks hope your DH can just relax and take time to heal a bit before he gets to antsy.

Hi Debby, hope you enjoyed the nap.

I go outside about every hour and give the crew some wetlands to traipse around in and that seems to help. And ice in their waterers each afternoon plus their pool. I think the worst part of summer is here right now, when it doesn’t cool off much at night to give them a break.

You've given your crew a lot of shade too, which has to help. Wish I could send you some of this rain we're getting. Do you usually start to cool off a bit in August?

I had 3 blue Australorps, not mixes and very large and fluffy, that all succumbed to heat and that hurt. The roo my son has was their brother and he does fine. Crazy.

I think some of it probably depends on where they come from. I feel like my ideal poultry birds and my mixes do best, because they're hatch from birds that have already acclimated to our climate. Probably not so, but it works with plants.

You'll have to come out of hiding sometime. He'll probably be calling you to help, any time now.

Same. 90s overnight or in our case, until midnight aren't helping them deal with the heat. August is still to come. It really, really, makes me feel bad for outdoor animals.

Hi Debby :frow :hugs I'm not sure, helping Sarah with the grandkids, so she can keep working. We spend every morning at the pool because they all have swim practice. I'm having a great time and finally getting to know Christian, since we moved shortly after he was born.

Over the years I've learned to stay out of the way unless he asks...apparently I'm TOO much help sometimes. :gig
