Thanks DMC, I'm glad you found the flashing.
Every afternoon when I see the hens, suffering the heat, I think I won't hatch or buy anymore. I guess I'm addicted. Sooner or later I'm going to quit.
This might be the year. I looked at the 10 day outlook, and the predicted temperatures have gone up again.😬

My chickens are mostly OK. I have a couple of older chickens that are suffering some. I brought my 4 yo rooster in yesterday. He spent the night in the bathtub. He's out right now, but we'll see how he does when it gets hotter. He is a big boy (was almost 12lb) but has lost almost pound of weight. I don't want to loose him. He is a pet.

That is a big boy for sure, I hope he’s ok. It’s so hard to love animals and keep them in this heat. I’ve thought about not having chickens as well, but I do love having them.

My garden is really struggling this year as well. I’ve lost quite a few things to the heat. Hopefully the shade trees will grow fast and make it a little better next year. I’ve decided to put shade over my vegetable garden before next year, maybe I’ll have better luck.

Hi Debby!

Our roofer is dropping shingle bundles on the roof. I swear they are going to come thru my ceiling. The roof is looking good though.

My husband has been saying that next year, he's going to have to use shade cloth. I hope it won't be so hot and dry here next year, but I'm worried that it's our new normal.

Be sure and get some pictures for us. New roofs are always so beautiful. They just brighten up a house.
