Well you WERE busy moving for a lot of it but you have extended your summer substantially by moving to North Florida.


Lowes was literally visible in the winter from our prior house, across the ravine. I think it was about as far from the back of the house as the woods behind our west field are here. It was a 1 mile drive to get there given there was only 1 way out of the neighborhood and the bridge over the train tracks was at the north end of the ravine 1/4 mile from the house. Now Lowes and Home Depot are 30 & 35 miles away.

I don't know if I'm settling in or not. Living in Casper spoiled me, I could get anywhere in about 7-10 minutes. Now it takes forever to get anywhere and it's mostly driving on highways. For example, last night after DH got off work we needed to go to a Home Depot to look for a new fridge. It took an hour to drive there, 2 hours to shop (plus a quick meal) and another hour to drive home...a 4 hour trip to what we could have done in Casper in about 30 minutes.

Some day I'll find the weather I want in the locale I want...some day :gig

It’s almost 2 hours for us to go to Lowes or Home Depot…..we have to drive up to Billings. It’s two lane most of the way, and in the summer we have campers and RVs (lots of them) and in the spring and fall we contend with all the farm implements putzing along at 15mph. So it can take us longer to get there.

@rjohns39 - If ya gotta be laid up for awhile, watching hummingbirds is a great way to spend the time!

Good morning Blooie, how are you doing?

There's a crazy amount of tourists in this area. Everyone says they clear out in the fall when kids go back to school. Here's hoping that's right!

Shoot, around here after school starts and the Yellowstone crowds thin out, then hunting season starts and there’s a whole new crop of out-of-state folks. Then ski and snowmobile season kicks in in the winter. So spring is about our only quiet time. But with all of our energy production being shut down, we’re grateful for the revenue, believe me!

I‘m a little achy….still got some cramping and ran a low grade temperature last night, but feeling more human today.
