The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Thank you! Times are changing, IM. Grannys aren't what they once were. 🤣 I can't even bake cookies!

Good morning, Mark. Apparently you have my winter. I'd like it back! 🤣
It's 7:30 here. I just came in from watering and feeding the chickens. I am wet from 😓 sweat. It is so humid here. A little rain would be much appreciated.
No, Grannies certainly aren’t what they used to be! That’s a good thing though. I have seen some of the old ways in action and and they weren’t for me.

My paternal grandmother died when I was very young. She was wonderful. She baked, hugged, and smelled nice.
My maternal grandmother was mean. At least I thought so when I was young. As an adult, I realized she was very mean, and spiteful too. I aspire to be like the cookie grandmother, but with store bought cookies. 😁

I’m like that with a couple of the kids. It’s hard when your grandkids live with you though, I can attest to that. They’re more like your own kids and we are meant to have kids at a young age, not in our senior years. Not enough patience or energy.

Good morning everyone, have a wonderful day. I think the reason our temperature is low is because we are so close to Lake Eire and the wind blows often. It brings the cold water from the bottom of the lake up and the cooled breeze is keeping it cooler. 68F at the moment.
:frow Good morning Mark, have a great day
Good morning. How did it get to be August? :th

I think I've become more patient with age. Marsha, and her children lived with me for a year. They were very young then. It was just before Jim and I married. I was still working a second job, and was tired most of the time. Marsha was an excellent roommate. I enjoyed having them there, but I wasn't the most grandmotherly then. My youngest boy is just a few years older than my oldest grandchild. He thinks his sister is his second mother. He is very close to her kids.
Jim was a good influence on my grandson. (& my kids)
Nick was fascinated with Jim's veins and muscles. 🤣 We bought him his first weight set. He also learned his frugal ways from his grandpa.

Good morning Mark, enjoy your cool morning!
