My paternal grandmother died when I was very young. She was wonderful. She baked, hugged, and smelled nice.

My maternal grandmother was mean. At least I thought so when I was young. As an adult, I realized she was very mean, and spiteful too. I aspire to be like the cookie grandmother, but with store bought cookies.

I think I've become more patient with age. Marsha, and her children lived with me for a year. They were very young then. It was just before Jim and I married. I was still working a second job, and was tired most of the time. Marsha was an excellent roommate. I enjoyed having them there, but I wasn't the most grandmotherly then. My youngest boy is just a few years older than my oldest grandchild. He thinks his sister is his second mother. He is very close to her kids.
