Plus, I so rarely remember to look at the little envelope thing I probably wouldn't see it for weeks anyway. That happens over on BYH were one young lady that trains and shows mini horses started a PM thread for those interested in her activities. Yeah, I'm REAL current when I finally notice the envelope has a red number on it and I find the first post I missed was 6 weeks back.

I do get behind then there are days with many pages of "good morning" posts that don't need to be read so I skip ahead. And then I miss a significant event

Case in point, I just went over to BYH and looked at the envelope. There was a 1 on it. The first post in her PM thread that I hadn't yet seen was dated Nov 6th! It had been almost 2 months since her prior last post. I'm caught up again.
