I did a quick check, as of Nov. 10th it's still pending:
"Earlier this year, the senate unanimously passed legislation known as the Sunshine Protection Act, which would effectively eliminate the seasonal changing of the clocks. But the measure still needs to pass the House and be signed by President Joe Biden before it is fully approved."

Maybe there's something newer out there?

I don't think so, that seems to be the latest. Im maybe too optimistic. I would prefer standard time myself.

Agreed!

I avoid the self check out as much as possible. Invariably, something goes wrong and I have to wait for an employee to come along anyway. Might as well let them do the whole check out process.

I love self checkout. I hate other people packing my bags. If something goes wrong, and they don't show up in a reasonable time, I use my mobile to call customer service, and tell them I'm waiting. They hate that btw.

I’m so going to do that! Our walmart is pretty good about having people available for issues, but most folks around here are poor so I think it’s more about asset protection.

Here's the new little Pip. She is in the house at night and early mornings. I have a mama hen (Lucy) who babysits for a few hours each evening. Lucy's other two babies are 46 days old and 37 days old. They are roosting at night, so I bring the Pip inside. They are in the chicken yard during the morning, so this one goes out with them for 4 hours in the afternoon, so she can be a chicken. It's a unique way of raising her, but it's working, so far. I want to put her out as soon as she is able to get on the roosts.

I’m so going to do that! Our walmart is pretty good about having people available for issues, but most folks around here are poor so I think it’s more about asset protection.

I read that many of the franchise stores are doing away with self checkout because of stealing. I don't see how, since they can't keep enough employees.

Today I've already run the dishwasher once and twice washed a bunch of stuff by hand. Darned dishes should just all be disposable!
