Good morning SourGood morning, good folks.
I bought a new mattress and it was delivered on the 1st. Too mushy! Made my back hurt.
I traded it in for an extra firm, because they didn't have a firm in that line. I like the new mattress better, but it is way too firm, so my extremities go to sleep before I do. I have a feather topper, but it's still too hard. I put a foam topper on it, and then the featherbed (to keep the hot foam away from me) and that was a huge improvement, but now I need a step ladder. (Hubby is asleep in the bunk room, with the TV going full blast)
They make these new mattresses so tall! I even bought a 4" boxsprings and my bed is still too tall.
We're thinking about getting a ladder just so that we can get into bed. Woe be the results if we ever fall out of bed. It's crazy how tall the new mattresses are, and it can be tough to find fitted sheets that fit them too.

Pretty much all sheets that fit are microfiber. I prefer cotton!Catching up with you all...good morning to everyone again!

I hope you don't need bed rails! We're thinking about getting a ladder just so that we can get into bed. Woe be the results if we ever fall out of bed.
I have a sleigh bed that I love. It is an odd size so I may have to make a custom insert and ditch the boxspring all together. That would shave 4" to 5" off the height.Nope, you sure don't want to fall out of bed!
Back in my very poor young adult stage, I just had a mattress on the floor in my apartment. It might be time to go back to that...I think a box spring & mattress would still be tall enough to make getting out of bed easy.![]()
Yes, there is definitely a downside to getting old enough to retire. Old parts don't work as well as young parts and more parts start to fail. It’s a toss up, I’m kinda glad I’m not OLD enough![]()

That is FOR SURE!!!! The "shallowest" flannel sheets I can find for the 10" California King mattress are "regular pocket depth" - 15"It's crazy how tall the new mattresses are, and it can be tough to find fitted sheets that fit them too.
