The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Hi Janie! What’s their excuse the rest of the year? :th It was a long day today. We got a new 1st grade kid a couple weeks ago. He is on a major struggle bus. The parents didn’t have him in school for 4 months. I’m hoping he repeats 1st grade. This week he knew 9 words of the 100 words they need to know by the end of first grade. The rest of the kids are anywhere from 200-400 already. I don’t know anything about the family but I feel bad for this kid. The other kids were bossy to him yesterday and he started crying.
I brought 2- 4th graders in to the principals office at recess for fighting. Both were innocent and did nothing wrong.🤥
I like my job but some days…
I admire you! I love my grands, but by the 3rd day they are trying my patience. I don't know how you can do a whole school year of that.
I feel so sorry for that little boy. I want to hug him.
I made cupcakes last night for our office girl and of course everyone else. It was Administrative Professional Day today.

Beautiful as always!
Thanks, I loved that house!

You’re still getting lots of rain? We haven’t had much accumulation…not like it had been. The only snow we have is in the trees and some huge drifts along the groves.

So pretty! And you have ducks! I'm jealous. We have a few wild geese and a big blue heron, but I can never get a clear picture. The heron has been here for years. At least I believe he is the original.

It's not so bad here either. I just wish it would stay this way 😂

Well, you're just so sweet Janie!

Man, that sounds like quite the day. Kids these days...some need a boot. Thats a bummer that the new kid is so far behind and returning so late in the year. He's still young, if he repeats he could catch up but, being the new kid comes with its challenges. I remember being a new kid in 5th grade. Hopefully he meets a friend!
Not so sweet. I smack them. 🤣
How are your classes going? Are you finished?

I don’t know how I do it either. There’s not many jobs available around here. I just have to suck it up. If I was the only one who felt this way I’d wonder if I was the problem. I still may be.

The ducks will leave when the water goes away. The tile is broke there. Hubby is going to fix it sometime this summer. That will help take the water out of our backyard also. As you can see, our evergreens are drowning. The water will eventually go but the little trees probably won’t survive.

I hope you can get a good picture of the heron.

You are not the problem. We live in a world where discipline can no longer be applied, and where people laugh at and encourage children who curse and behave badly. And then, they make excuses for their poor behavior when they are older.

Went to hand specialist today. Trigger finger. I've left it too long, it's been hurting pretty good. Well, I went ahead with something.. that I had no idea about..but should have figured..done. I thought that I would go in and they say yes you need surgery. Austin had it done when he was a child. Thumb. Anyway, had a cortisone shot. Oh my word!!! Painful as all get out. Says give it a few days. I know how they work. I've had shoulders, and knee shot up a few times. This supposedly could last up to a year. Here's the scary part. The tip of that finger went numb on the way home. Hmm..called the office when I got home, I mean it was numb. She said they were in surgery and would call back in a bit. By the time she did, it was numb down to the middle of my finger. She said that they add numbing..in the Shot because the cortisone is rough at first. What? They did spray my hand before the needle. She said it happens, to give it 6 to 8 hrs. to wear off. And, if it's still numb in the morning to call. It's 9:30 here..11 is 8 hrs. I'm still numb. It's weird. I don't like this feeling. At all.

Idk how to make it stick.
I really hope you find a way to make it stick kiddo. You eat healthy, I know because I’ve seen your meals. Just cut out the pancakes with syrup and such. I know it’s easier said than done, we all struggle with it. My neighbor is diabetic, has been for a long time, and he wants ice cream from Dairy Queen a lot. That’s his weakness. He allows himself to have it once in a while, just not all the time. He told me the easiest way is to just not buy what’s bad so it’s not in the house, and use a list when you go grocery shopping. Plan your meals, and then test one and two hours after meals to see how those particular foods impact your BG levels. You may be able to still have pasta, rice, syrup, etc just in smaller amounts. You won’t ever know what makes your sugar spike unless you test, test, test.
