For us in So. Cal it was K-6, Jr High 7-9, High 10-12. Here my kids had K-5 (3 schools in the city), Middle 6-8, High 9-12, Middle and High on the same property. In my current town it is the same grade breaks with all the schools on the same property. Some of the smaller towns have K-8 then bus the older kids to a high school in a bigger area.

For me and my kids it was K-5 elementary, 6-8 jr. high, 9-12 high school. They did a graduation for my kids when they left jr. high, but they don't do it anymore.
