The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

We don't do any junk, but his low carb diet is very expensive. I try to stick to mainly fresh foods and extra good cuts of meat. I could go meatless, but Jim cannot. I rarely buy any canned or prepared foods, other than olives, mayonnaise, mustard, and that sort of stuff. If I lived alone, I'd probably exist on grilled cheese sandwiches and shredded wheat cereal with bananas. 🤣
Grilled cheese is delicious!!!

Good to know! My coffee emulsion should be here Tuesday (along with DH's Father's Day gift  ).

I'm going to use it in chocolate cupcakes with chocolate/coffee frosting for DH to take to work...after I get one of course! (I plan on using a little bit in the cupcake batter too.)
Let me know how you like it :D

I was wondering what that was:gig

I hate grocery shopping. Things are so expensive.

I can't seem to go without spending over $300. And it's just two of us! Of course, I only go every 10 days...less if I can.

I go grocery shopping every week and I can't get out of there for under $120-$130. That's seems high to me. Also, every once in a while DH will stop and pick up a few extra things. We rarely eat out and usually have 2 meals a day at home. We've cut out a lot of snack things and I try to use up leftovers. Still, it's almost painful to grocery shop.
I have taken to checking Amazon for some household items and it can be cheaper. Also check Temu, sometimes there’s some really good deals

:yesss: Used the new sink. The sprayer thing is awesome and hubs did a really nice job with installation. Can’t have the same storage setup underneath though, the new garbage disposal is bigger, scarier, with more teeth. The hands free on/off, OMG I LOVE IT! That’s seriously going to come in handy.

I grew up in earthquake country for the most part after living on a farm for the early part of my childhood. I can’t get past the mindset of having a pantry stuffed to the gills in case of an emergency so I use canned and boxed stuff a few days a week to rotate through it. I figure a can of green beans or carrots in a stew full of fresh veggies is probably ok.

So good.

I remember in the 70's coming home and saying..oh my goodness ..I spent 20 dollars at the store today! That was a lot back then. Of course hourly wage was next to nothing.

I will, thanks for letting me know about them!

That's great IM! I've never had a hands-free faucet but can imagine helpful that would be. Enjoy!

Having stuff on hand in case of emergencies makes sense to me too IM.
