Good morning, Debby. The week went by quickly. I'm getting a new washing machine tomorrow. Unbelievable that my old one, a maytag, only lasted 7 years.

What kind are you getting? That’s longer then any of mine. My first new machine lasted me 16 years. Anything after, the longest was 6.

I think we ordered a GE, but I can't remember now. I just wanted a high capacity top loader with an agitator. It's ridiculous that they last such a short time now. The parts and labor are so expensive to repair that it isn't worthwhile.
All our government regulations to make appliances "more efficient and safer" have just made them more expensive, caused a shorter lifespan, and made more waste for the landfill.

Good evening, Mark. Hope all is well in your world. Rainy season? Damp season is more like it. Feels like you could wring water out of the air for the last couple of days but we've only gotten a half inch here at the house.

Glad to here you have got some. It's good to see you PertI woke up freezing! It dropped to 46 degrees F during the night and I didn't have the furnace turned on.

Good morning DMC, Janie, Kelsey. DMC you had that so correct about the safety features. My two-year-old table saw almost burnt up! I went to start it and it blew the breaker and smoke started coming out of the motor. Come to find out it was due to a faulty safety break for the blade. I removed the cork brakes, and it works fine now! and yes, I did say cork the same kind you use in wine bottles, The cork pads had frozen to the brake disk.
