The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good Morning!

There was traffic likely routed through Woodland from I-5 that caused a traffic jam this morning. Luckily it cleared our before I got to highway 113. I was still a bit late to work though.

Hi Ron, do you have a long commute to work? I always picture CA as lots & lots of highways (and traffic).

It takes about 25 minutes to get to work. It is usually an easy commute but I-5 and 80 have been problems this year. Google and waze re route through Woodland and 113 and even 505 when there is a crash that causes issues.

I should check traffic conditions before I leave.

I work in Davis and live in Woodland because there is a large difference in housing costs between the two Cities that are only 25 miles apart. Basically Davis is a couple hundred thousand dollars more expensive for a house similar to ours.

So 25 minutes isn't too bad, I expected you to say at least an hour.

That's way too long for me. I'd have to move or change jobs if I had to do that every day.
Me too! Supposedly the limit for travel to work is 45 minutes. That is too long for me though.

Towards the tail end of her first career the Princess had an hour + commute. Eventually that initiated her first retirement. It took three more tries before retirement 'took'.

That's similar to what my dad went through. In his last 3 years with the company he worked for, he was a 2 hour trip to get to work (4 hours round trip). It's crazy to spend that much time traveling back & forth to work, but you do what has to be done.
