The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Maybe so. My brother owns a construction company (bought from my dad)
He never lacks for work and always has two crews going. He turns down jobs if he can't get to them in a timely manner. He is also very careful about communicating with his customers. There are other companies that start out busy but get a bad reputation because they get so far behind and they do not keep their customers informed. My brother's business is highly rated and even when construction is stagnant, he is busy and keeps his crew on. It's because he, and my father before him, have always believed communication, and reliability were just as important as doing a good job.
That’s amazing.
If this guy plans on me being a reference for future jobs, he's going to be disappointed.
That’s his own fault.
That's the way it should work. This guy never calls, all phone calls have come from me. I told DH I was done talking to the guy, so he's going to deal with him from here on out.

The company I hired in WY took just 3 days to remove a chain link fence and install a 6' privacy fence with gate. After 2 months of hiring this guy, all we have to show for it are some (not all) fence posts up.

:barnie
I’m sorry. That sounds incredibly frustrating!!

Good morning everyone 😊 ☕☕coffee to keep me going

Hi Sue, stuff sure does add up. Good for you on getting rid of things. I usually only do that when I move :gig
I'm doing it not because I have lots of free time and don't need the stuff anymore.
Don't we all. Just save it and let the kids throw it out when you're gone. After all, I'm sure they left plenty of their own junk when they moved out.
Yeah, Rob's family left things behind
Are you guys getting ready to move?
Nope, he doesn't want to move again, but we have no animals and this is just too much now. Plus, we have no help from family in any way 😞

After all those days of 100+, I bet that 87* is looking good.

Have you ever thought of moving to Flagstaff? That's right by my favorite AZ town of Williams :D
Not Flag, it’s a college town and I don’t like it there. I don’t think Igor could handle the cold either, it snows at times. I would like to go East toward Globe. Less people, cooler temps although not as cool as the high country, and more rain than we get here.

Good thing you move often!

Yep. DD1 came home from college with a bunch of stuff she accumulated over the years. A LOT of it is still upstairs in our "library/sitting room" because the house her now husband bought in VA is very small. And now they have to find room for all the wedding presents!

DD2 is collecting stuff for when she moves out (she is 28). The way things are going we'll die or move to a retirement community first.

You are lucky he moved it into boxes instead of a dumpster ;)
It is nice to get the Kids stuff out of the house!

Our fence saga is continues. The fence guy was here last Thursday the 21st and made the post holes. He came back on Monday the 25th and set all but one of the posts (that post is still laying on the ground).

Will he be back today? Who knows. I am 100% disgusted.
I hope you get your new fence soon!

I do not want to move either! We have lived here since 1999 and are very rooted here.

It would be nice to have a place for more chickens though....
