We have several different types of scorpions here. As I understand it the big ones are no more dangerous than a bee sting unless you’re allergic. However there are two small species that can and do kill people and they hang out in the walls of houses usually. A park ranger told me once that he never puts his hands anywhere he can’t see and he wears gloves always. I have heeded that advice!The scorpions here don't necessarily go away when it gets cold. There aren't as many, but they're still creeping around, even with snow on the ground. They were really bad this year. I killed two in my house last week.
