Maybe because of all the hollers or whatever they call them here, lots of valleys and then also the mountains block a lot of the storms. At the old house it was good for keeping us safe from the bad storms, we still lost power though, soThe power outages with this storm is amazing:

Sue, I find it interesting that KY has more power outages than TN since you are farther south and closer to where the storm came from.
