The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

We are in the process of putting a/c window units in all the bedrooms this weekend. We already have one in the great room that can be used with the generator when our power is out.
Our central air unit had to be replaced 2 years ago, after only 5 years of use. We've already had to have it repaired this year. Its an American Standard and supposed to be an excellent unit, but it may have a glitch. We are covering our bases just in case. I sure don't want my snub nose dogs to be suffering from heat in August while we wait for parts.

Seems crazy to have problems with a 5yo central air unit, but all you hear any more is bad news about appliances. Good call to get window units put in now, in case the central unit goes kaput. You get too hot there in TX to not have a/c!
