The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning Janie, hope you have a nice Tuesday as well!

My Opie cat won't be enjoying his, he has a vet appointment this afternoon. I'm not sure which he hates more, the car ride or the exam.

How are all your critters doing?
I hope Opie had a good experience. Everyone here is doing well. They are all up to date on their yearly visits now, thankfully.

Thanks! Yeah, I don't think I'm 100% yet as crazy as that sounds. TMI, but I'm still getting random blisters (but definitely no where like before, thankfully.)

With the meat thing (since I had been doing carnivore for a year and 1/2) at first actually thought I might have Alpha-gal (an allergy to meat from tick bites since we were shearing sheep with ticks that day) but I'm not allergic, it just doesn't taste good anymore. Oh well, ice cream diet it is! 🥳

I'm glad it sounds like the vet visit went well and you found a good one! Good boy, Opie!
I had alpha-gal. I couldn't eat red meat or pork for over two years. I can now and I'm making up for it.
Have you checked with your doctor to make sure it isn't shingles. Some people get them without them being in the typical places. I've never had them but I know they can be very painful and cause some surprising symptoms.

I didn't know you could get over alpha-gal. I'm so glad!

Yes. They said it's definitely not shingles. Apparently a full-body rash rules you out for that or something. I don't know why, but the Dr. asked to take a picture of my back and right away he said it wasn't shingles. When I first went into the clinic, I came in crying to the receptionist to help fix my shingles, though. 😭🤣

I haven't heard of alpha-gal before, so read up about it...interesting stuff to be aware of. Thanks to you both for for bringing it up.

According to Opie, any vet visit is not a good experience. And I can't refer to him as my 18lb cat any more...he is now my 20lb cat.

But he got a clean bill of health so all is well. :)

Good morning to you all...have a wonderful Wednesday!
Hi Debby, you also!

It’s raining again here. Not sure how much we’ll get.

My son’s girlfriend’s cat is 19 pounds. His name is meatball and he’s round like one.😆
