Yeah, you've been through enough! I'm glad the 2nd storm didn't cause any problems! I hope you and Princess enjoy your 4th!Good morning, and Happy 4th of July. Had another major storm and power outage yesterday afternoon. No damage this time.
Well, I would say it's more than one 4th of July put together, but picture all of the in-laws, kids, great grandmas in wheelchairs, etc. sitting outside the family motel waiting for the firework "show."Hmm, this needs some elaboration...sounds like an interesting story![]()
They look delicious.I got some individual sized peach & blueberry cobblers made this morning.

The peaches from the local produce stand have been excellent this year.
This recipe was really good. I will save it.Just plain carrot cake is good!

Let me preface this with, I never buy the fireworks, but somehow get tasked of lighting them off. (Okay honey.) So sometimes I can only guess what these fireworks do. Anyways, I thought it was "safe," I put the firework between some cinderblocks even. I lit that firework, backed away, and somehow, even with the blocks, it tipped over and pointed directly at the family motel and the whole family!
I ran so fast (it was in slow motion, though), I kicked it over in the other direction, but now towards the front of the motel is a parking lot, restaurant, bank and county jail (police station) so all of the projectiles are going under cars and at all those buildings and I am just really lucky I didn't get one up my shorts and nobody and nothing was hurt! So yeah, that's what happens to me on the 4th in a nutshell. Everyone, be safe out there!
Yeah, that was the funny thing, just how nonchalant everyone was. (If it was my family, it definitely would have ruffled some feathers, and I probably wouldn't have any left afterwards!) I don't even think they put the kabosh on anything, but we probably chose ones that were a little less "exciting." I didn't learn my lesson because we repeated a similar scenario with my dad once after that incident. It didn't knock over but those things were flying horizontal! I think I'm ready to hand over my punk for sure, after that! That's one of those stories that never dies!
Are you still in charge of lighting the fireworks?
