The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Likely I would! I was the administrator and operator for our School Corp`s digital HVAC control system. I really enjoyed that! Of course I had to fix any and all issues for our 5 schools too! Over time I got to be pretty good at it! 😊 I would shock teachers when I would show up with tools to work on their classroom hvac unit to fix it before they knew there was a problem! 😂
Nice. Technology, not so great. Thankful for my daughter in law when it comes to that. If theres any glitch going on with phones or t.v., she figures it out.
She's a Data Analyst too. So numbers!
Me? Ask me anything about Spina Bifida. Have a son that was born with it. I helped with the awareness back in the 80's when it was the number one birth defect. Did a lot of newspaper interviews with my son in October as it became Spina Bifida month. His cute little mug was used often for articles and was the poster boy and had a huge photo of him in the ZCMI building during a conference for it in Salt Lake City. I spoke often and prepared parent and child meetings, one being a big event in a park for the kids. Oh those we're the dayss when my brain could think straight. Vestibular problems along with Lupus. You never know what kind of curve ball life is going to send you.
Anyway, after being part of a 5 year study, me sending blood to the state of Washington and them sending me prenatal vitamins, it's been learned that taking prenatal vitamins is vital as a woman starts to think of trying to become pregnant. It's partially genetic and also environmental.
I'm not complaining. Noo..Im truly blessed for having what not only what I've had, but for what I have today. I know I've been blessed more than some as I get older. Very blessed. ❤️

Wow. Hope that didn't sound like bragging. It actually brought back some great memories. Also some sad as my son went through numerous surgeries. He's out on his own today. Sure scared me when he decided to move out. He has on going health issues but handles them well. In fact getting ready for a surgery now. Not a big one but yet another.
He's in his 40's now. :)

Not at all Cynthia! That is awesome you had a part in helping with Spina Bifida research! Also in helping others cope with it, it sounds like! That is awesome too! So sorry you have had health issues to deal with. I am glad your son is able to live on his own and have his own life. That is truely a gift for him! I hope his surgery goes well. We have two grandsons that are autistic. It it to bad anyone has to deal with these health issues like Spina bifida, Autism and all oft he other maladies. Have an awesome birthday!😊
