Yesterday my child told me I looked like Scrooge. Today he said, “I hate you.” This afternoon we went to the nursing home to sing Christmas Carol’s. We took a bus as there were blizzard conditions and we couldn’t walk. I was getting off the bus and it was icy and the step was high. My child noticed my distress and said, “I’ll help you.” He walked with his little arms around my side all the way in. I was fine but I let him do it. This is why I stick with my job…for the moments like this.

Hi DMC. I take it you work with special needs kids? I get it, we have two Autistic grandkids. Truth be known, my DW and I are likely a bit that way. I have always had trouble concentrating and I tend to have ocd tendencies. He said said something hurtful then turned around and did something sweet! Hard not to feel for them!

Here`s another school story. One day the Superintendent called me to come to the Admin. Office. He asked if I would go to the county seat treasurer`s office and pick up a school funding check. I of course said sure. It was for over $5 million dollars!!! Now that was different let me tell ya! 😳

Hi Barry. I do. My little person has a lot going on but has had a lot of growth this year. He is starting to learn to read and I get so excited for him.

It’s unbelievable the amount of Autism there is out there. It varies so much in it’s severity.
