Yea, that shouldn't count, should it? What do ya have in mind? Throw in some eggs for ya?

I've been thinking about this. As I understand it, Kathy wants to grow out the chicks she has without adding more chicks to feed. So, in my mind, hatching for someone else shouldn't count...

But, letting a broody hatch some eggs should count, unless those day olds go to someone right away.

I'm just trying to fill up my coop...even though it isn't finished, yet. I think it ought to be done before 21 days are up...

Come onnnnnnn, Dale Ann! I can't help it if they go broody, now can I? It is just a normal thing for them to do. I have no control over it, and should not be penalized, right?

If the day olds come to my house, it won't count...

4 Icelandics (#5 pipped and died without zipping; #6 earlier quitter)
1 Jersey Giant
10 Barred Rocks (#11 pipped and died) * Note here .... I hatched a, "Sport," from the BRs. Yes, I got a yellow chick! I have been told that this happens less than 3% of the time, and this is a White Rock, and this is how White Rocks were created!

Now, this is pretty darn close to a 100% hatch .... I am very happy with it!

Oh no .... what am I to do ....

My Lavender Orp project birds started laying today! 5 eggs! First day of laying, and 5 laid eggs! Now, tell me, do you think I should just refrigerate those eggs and eat them????

What would YOU do????

I'm fairly certain you have to collect them for a few days, wrap them and put them in a box and send them to someone who needs them. I can pm you my address.
