The Old Folks Home

Your case sounds like my Family genetics! Lots of gout and osteoarthritis

I hear that moving helps even if it hurts for arthritis
That's true about moving. My problem has been that repetitious movement causes me pain after the fact. If I use a hammer a lot one day, the next day my shoulder and neck will bother me. That is the one thing I have to avoid. Not hammering, etc, just doing a lot of repetitious movement.

I am doing a lot of walking, tho, which is good. We take two of the pups out on nice days and let them run the pasture. Trust me, you get exercise when you deal with them.

Morning all. Our fall colors are a bust here. We have had gusty winds for the past two days and the leaves that were hit by the frosts are just turning brown and falling. I see the occasional red on a tree but just no brilliant golds, yellows and browns like we usually get.

And now, looking ahead to the forecast for next week, they are saying a chance for snow showers on Halloween...Oh say it isn't so!:hit:barnie

It takes time to recover from work like that with arthritis!

Morning yup did a hell of lot sitting here heard my neck crack been real bad last 2 days
is this good or a serious warning:idunno not sure
Maybe you are just in sympathy with me, Penny. I hope not. I was on my hands and knees today trying to clean under a stand and it suddenly dawned on me....your body doesn't like you to do this so why are you doing it?

Moment of revelation. Sure hope you are feeling better. I did after doing some of my PT exercises.

The wind has been gusty here today. Without it, the sun is pleasant but it hasn't been without it all day. Leaves are falling like crazy.

I may have to try almond cookies with artificial flavoring. About the only time of the year that I make cookies is Christmas. DH loves oatmeal raisin. I love chocolate chips then I usually make one other kind. Usually sugar. Almond would be just as easy. I make a half a batch of each so we don't have them around forever tempting us. Last year was the first year in I don't know how long that I didn't gain 7 pounds over the holidays. My weight was up 3 pounds yesterday. (on their scale, clothed and a belly full of toast and a gallon of coffee) Kinda glad. Clothes are fitting better and I am feeling better at around 28-29 subtracting clothes. Would like to be at 125 though and give myself some leeway in case of injury or illness. You can loose weight really fast if that happens and the doctor pointed out to me that he didn't want me getting so thin that I didn't have any reserve to call on....just in case.

First doc who said that to me.

I swear their scale weighs heavy compared to ours and the one at the PCP's office. They claim no but I've never seen an electronic hospital scale that was worth a darn.

I hope the cookies turn out!
