The Old Folks Home

we have almost 3 cords that is 2 more than we had before and he help us stack it the wood splitter we got BF is a god send he has his fill of splitting wood

We bought two cords (the house is small and very tight) and they were the most generous cords we’ve ever seen! Everyone who has been out to the house comments on how much wood we have, and I’m certain none of them saw the wood in our shed across the street! It’s all under roof and drying from our recent monsoons. It’s already split, thank goodness.

sure is nice heat I love wood heat

So does DH. He is very thin and always cold. He has heated boots and gloves for skiing and any outside work. He sits very close to the fire!

I love it too. You can move closer or farther, and be really warm without overheating the whole house. And dry your gloves. :jumpy

I don't begrudge any of you your winter cold, and snow, if that's what you like. It's just not for me. I don't really think snow is that pretty, and I really dislike the freezing temperatures. Yes, I've experienced it. I drove home from KY, through TN, when a freak storm hit. Awful stuff. The second time I had to deal with snow was when we flew to Indiana to visit my MIL. 15 minutes after we landed at the airport, walked through the dang stuff to get to our rental car, and got on the road, I was ready for it to go away, and warm up. One of the few snow scenes I do like, is Al's church, with everything covered in snow, and the light glistening on it. That does not mean I want to actually experience it. I don't. I do wish that Spring, and mild Autumns lasted much longer. Again, I don't begrudge any of you your winters. It's just not my cup of tea.

Ma grumbled and griped but even after we lost Dad she stayed even when I went to college in NE she stayed out there it was in that time she met her best he was not Dad but sure made us feel he was he loved Ma and that went both ways it was after he was gone she decided it was her time also

Getting away from the snow is how the Ottman side of my Family moved to Northern California! Grandpa had enough of the snow in Chicago
