The Old Folks Home

Don't bother, Al won't put it in the stove until the house gets down to 33° anyway ;)

Ha! Even with waiting until the house hits 33.... I still burn a bunch of wood. :old

Yeah... still no fire going... it was hard to type early this morning...brrr.

Turns out the pumpkin the kids carved, with it's one little candle, was a nice and toasty foot warmer.

Hey stepped out the door with hat on backwards it was on my hed to keep my hair out the english muffins I was making burned most them did not get to pay attention as I would like some stupid Vet they saw said oh another cat did it one look told me skunk or racoon BF said he has had the yellow in the Shasta with Bob eating no fight but will wait fort them to get home to try to talk to them again

Thanks as for the honey locust, we could deal with 1" thorns. Must be young trees that you are dealing with. Our Locusts with 6-8" diameter trunks or larger have 3+ inch thorns on them. We wear heavy boots when we deal with them. They don't go through the soles, but the thorns will penetrate the sides of the shoes even if they are heavy leather and pierce your skin. The main reason we are trying to eliminate them in our timber.

Yes. Ours were not trees. They looked more like tall brambles or shrubs. Almost completely eliminated them last summer.

I grew to hate them. so hard to kill!

Then there is us this year, no snow at all which is unusual, I've never seen a year with not even a flake by the end of October in the 40 years I've lived here.

Wouldn't it burn better if they let it dry first?
I thought the same thing about the Amish burning green wood. ???

And Bruce, indeed, where is our snow? We skiers want to know!
(Others can be forgiven for hoping it holds off. But torrential, repeated rains? Cease!)
