It rained today. It's going down to 63 tonight, but it's 69, and breezy out now. It's perfect weather for the kids, and their tent. We have it setup on the back screened-in patio. One of the porch lights is on for them. We can see everything back there, on the security camera. Right now, they're all in it, playing on their tablets. In a bit, we'll have them come in for a snack, and to watch a movie. After the movie, I'll fill their thermos bottles for them to take out there. They can play on their tablets until they fall asleep. The screen doors are locked, and I'll leave the slider open, so they can come in during the night, if they need to (bathroom). They're excited, and I get excited seeing them so excited.

@microchick - with the crust of snow it does look a little like a tiled floor! DH built that “temporary” coop and we keep adding to the list of what a permanent one needs to have. It’s right outside the porch door, which is convenient, but they’ve taken over our small deck, which is not! Not as bad as in the kitchen, though!

Safe camping, Clue! I bet those kids have a ball!

@KDOGG331, what are you hatching?

I don't have true migraines but I had abdominal migraines when I was a kid and still occasionally have scintillating scotoma (auras) that my Doctor Honey informed me one day could be migraine in nature and probably related to the stomach problems I had as a kid only back in the 1950s, heck, they told you that you had a nervous stomach and gave you some noxious medicine to drink, patted you on the head and gave you a lolly pop.

I'd much rather have a migraine than the flu. At least you can take a vaccine and prevent getting a lot of bugs going around...can't do anything about 'little flashing lights' except ride them out and hope for a fast resolution....which for me generally happens around two hours. For the flu,at least for me, it's two weeks of being miserable.:sick

Guess I better have your phone number for next time so we don't miss each other. That won't be until April or May though so find something to occupy your time until then ;)

Hmm. Let’s see. I have the chickens, skiing, gardening, baking, hiking, helping DH with his endless home improvement projects (e.g. he built a 28’ x 28’ garage, perfectionist style), maybe a part-time job, and playing at being retired.

Perhaps I should get a job as a flag holder on highway construction projects, as practice for waiting to wave when you drive by! Of course, they sometimes get killed.

Maybe not.

bruce, it's sprinkling off and on, so I'm not making a fire, then having us all get out in the rain for smores. They got Chips Ahoy cookies, and a glass of milk. Everybody's happy. We will do more traditional camping at a later time. This was just an early preview.

Yeah, mine are quite a distance away from the house. Sometimes I wish they were closer....but not at 3:30 AM when the roosters decide it's time to rise and shine and start crowing.

DH pointed out to me that if they were running loose they would all be on the back deck or the side deck, staring in the windows and begging for treats.

Today on their run, the pups discovered the chicken coop and run. REALLY discovered it and kept running around the run like they were saying "There has to be a way to get in here!" Well, there wasn't. Plus there was a hot wire humming away so they finally gave up and instead, the two that were out exercising, ran up and down the outside of their fenced in back yard, teasing the three dogs lodged inside. Neener Neener Neener...I'm loose and you aren't :tongue. And Varn wonders why they beat him up.

My migraines are triggered by sudden drops in barometric pressure - a storm coming in.

But hear this, migraine folks! The neurologist said she won’t see any referrals for migraines unless the patient was on 400 mg of riboflavin (vitamin B2) and 400 mg of magnesium and it didn’t work. But it worked!

Don’t get the cheap magnesium. Get magnesium aspartate to avoid the, er, digestive disturbances. ive has only one migraine in the last 1 1/2 year
