The Old Folks Home

Happy Birthday, Ron! May you live long and Prosper!

Me? Went to doctor....BLAH! Still studying....Blah! Calling for snow this weekend.....BLAH! Especially since if it does my test may get postponed.....BLAH!

Still Studying every spare minute......

My Brain Hurts.....:hit
Thanks! I am off to the dentist tommorrow. I will be getting prepped for the third crown on one of my teeth. The first one did not fit and the second on fractured-- they are not supposed to fracture since they are made from zirconium. Hopefully the third time is a charm!

I just got back from my doctor. Apparently the flu I had was not one of the ones included in the vaccine, so the vaccine would not have helped a bit. Apparently my case of flu depleted me pretty bad, causing me to develop a baby case of shingles. The area is about the size of a quarter, on one butt cheek. Doesn't hurt, doesn't burn, doesn't itch. Not complaining about not having the typical symptoms of shingles. They sent in an anti-viral to the pharmacy, and I will be taking prednisone too. I'm broke out with prednisone, so they didn't have to call that in. Should be totally cleared up within 10 days.

Oh no!

There was an article that said you do get some protection from previous flu shots that had that strain of flu in it. Hopefully enough that a person does not die from the flu but will still get sick.

Another reason to get the shot each year!

Dang, get well quick!

Welcome to the club, @getaclue. No flu here for me at least not yet but yep, on prednisolone. There are no words to define how much I hate steroids. But what I hate even more is the fact that they do knock down the pain and inflammation for me very quickly. It can only mean that when I have a 'flare' it will be the go to drug that they prescribe for me.

Last night was the first night that I've slept straight through without being awoken by severe shoulder pain. I'm trying to focus on that.

Frankly I don't think they know exactly what is wrong with me. So when in doubt, use steroids.

Clue, I have had shingles on my butt also. Very much NOT fun!

Good luck on the crown, Ron. I hope they are giving you a break since the original crown broke.

I don't think the doctors know what is wrong with me either, though I suspect the Lyme disease is not gone.

We have rock, and I collected some moss.
