The Old Folks Home

I haven’t disappeared completely! I got busy with family drama, relationship issues that needed tending, babysitting darling granddaughter, and ski season. And working 1-2 days a week. So sorry to neglect you all!

My other forum is a women’s ski forum and it was calling me often, given that I’m skiing a lot, meeting up with others, and discussing Everything Skiing.

All is well here, except not enough snow! The girls are recovered from the dual nightmares of broody cage and molting (2 different chickens) which seemed to disturb their equilibrium as a flock. I am getting an egg now and then again, so things are looking up. The advantage of far less snow than usual is chickens free ranging on the bare spots and in the compost pile. On warm days they really enjoy it.

Happy to see you all and I haven’t read the whole thread, so bear with me while I catch up!

Don’t be sorry!! Just glad you are okay!! Though I am sorry to hear about the drama and relationship issues :hugs hope everything resolves itself. :fl

Glad everything else is going well though.

And yeah, it’s been a very weird winter haha

Welcome back.gif

It sounds like you have been very busy!

Wonky weather here. 61 slated for today and snow tomorrow morning.

IMHO, retirement is busier. BUT you can take a nap! :) And you can stay up late watching TV without it impinging on your morning, which can occur later as the waking timetable is flexible....unless you have dogs or kids running underfoot.

Watched the Super Bowl. DH wanted to turn it off at the beginning of the 4th quarter for dinner. I said "Uhn-uhn. You never know..." He's ultimately glad we didn't as he would've missed the KC comeback. Best commercial bit was Sam Elliott's mustache doing the wave. Liked Shakira's hip winks during halftime show during her dance routine; not so keen on J-Lo's nationally televised crotch shot. Then they tried to sanitize that with a Woke little girls chorus. It just didn't work for me. Guess I'm officially an old fuddy.

I like not having to get up at some crazy hour in the morning.
Me too and for some reason I set up an annual (well biennial) doctor visit for Wed, have to be there at 8 AM. WHAT WAS I THINKING?? Heck, half the time I'm just finishing up the post "get out of bed" indoor tasks, haven't even eaten or gone out to do chicken and alpaca chores by then.

Maybe if I just chant the name BLOOIE BLOOIE BLOOIE BLOOIE BLOOIE she will hear it
and respond.

I can't remember her last name or I would try Google.
I've not had any luck in that regard :(
Her last name is Badget, they live in Cowley, WY. Their anniversary is on the 29th. At least nothing bad showed up when I Googled but I miss my Blooie 😢 .

I haven’t disappeared completely!
YAY!!!!! 'Cause I REALLY didn't want to go stand at all the lifts at Killington with a sign hoping it would be the right place and time that you were using that particular lift.
