The Old Folks Home

Up here, the only shortages in the stores are stuff that is shipped up from Seattle... that those Seattle people hoarded.

So yeah, no toilet paper or rice.

But we have loads of animal feed...we only have 1 brand, and it is made in state.
I have about 30 pounds of rice in the freezer. I will need to get TP in several weeks but do have a lot of kleenex!

I went to get a new printer today. Nothing has really hit here yet, so before it does, I wanted to get a few things. Staples was empty, except for a couple employees, and they didn't get too close. We prepaid, so I just had to show them the code, my I.D., and they loaded it in my vehicle. Fast, and easy.

I went to Publix, to get a few grocery store items. I didn't want to brave Wal-Mart, and the masses. I was able to get baby wipes, and plastic cups, as well as the other things I needed. No TP, paper towels, cleaning products, etc. yet, but they are getting deliveries of those things. They just sell out fast. Then I stopped in at Beall's. Gloria Vanderbilt shorts are on sale for $13.00 a pair. I only got one pair last time, but like them so much, I'd like a couple more, and you can't beat the price. They're normally $44.00 a pair. They didn't have the ones I want, so I will check online later, or at another one of their locations in the morning.

After that, I headed to the feed store. I paid, went to the loading dock, and they told me they were out of my chicken feed. I had to go back in, and get my refund. They will have more in on Wed. I've got plenty to hold me until then. I want to keep buying as I normally would, so I don't dip into my reserves yet.

Got home, put up groceries, we ate, then I tackled setting up the new printer. Easy peasy. Now, I'm a bit on the tired side, but not overly so.

We went to wally BF needed meds went to buy toilet paper and paper towels stopped at HD was able to get good sized paper towel Brawny more than we ever pay .. wally no paper towels but a generic toilet paper as fast as they could roll out a pallet it was gone then we came home..
I did get garden starts at HD

I got seeds from Burpee's today. Beets, carrots, sugar pumpkins, butternut squash. I've got tomatillo seeds ordered and got some squash and pumpkin seeds in starting containers. Makes me feel better about being grounded to the farm if I can play in the dirt a bit.

My Early Girl tomato seeds are up. Has to be a record. I think I started them 4-5 days ago. DH rigged a grow light over them for me since it's been so danged cloudy here lately. I think they broke soil 36 hours after he switched on the lights.

I did get my terrace started. We need to go out and harvest some red cedar trees to make posts out of. Much cheaper than buying 4X4 green treated and we have an abundance of cedars on the property that need thinned out. We can shape them with our table saw.

I'm trying to keep a good attitude about the State of Emergency thing and threat towards us old folks....but I'm afraid I'm just seeing it at the moment as an extension of my 'self isolation' from the Prolia shot. I was sooooo looking forward to coming out of hibernation in April.

I'm more of a grumpy ol' bear right now than a cheerful spring robin.
